Walkers Paradise in Pembrokeshire & Cardigan Bay
There is stunning walking right on the doorstep of Top of the Woods campsite, with the public footpaths and bridleway running through the site into the Fynnone Woods, along the Dulas and Teifi valleys and beyond into the Preseli Hills or on to the coast.
What a coast it is too! In 2011 National Geographic magazine voted Pembrokeshire the second-best coastal destination in the world, and the star attraction is the Pembrokeshire Coast Path which starts from St. Dogmaels, just a 20 minutes drive from Penrallt, and runs on for 186 miles through the National Park to Amroth in the South.
There are coastal buses which enable walkers to explore sections of the coast path one-way then take the bus back to where they started, such as the Poppit Rocket running from Cardigan to Fishguard. (Buses are dog-friendly.)
There are also 950 km of walking trails within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, criss-crossing inland from the main coastal route. You want run our of walking trails when you come you come for your camping or glamping holiday!

Pembrokeshire is a wildlife & nature hot spot
Pembrokeshire is one of three National Parks in Wales, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park was established in 1952 and includes 186 miles of coastline, the Preseli mountains, ancient woodlands, rivers, marsh wetlands and hidden valleys. The county also boasts 14 nature reserves.
The whole area is a wildlife and nature hotspot, take a boat ride and see the largest resident dolphin pod in Europe, or spot migratory Atlantic grey's the Common or Harbour seals that comes to our shores to give birth to their pups in late summer
If you are bird lover, visit the Pembrokeshire islands of Skomer or Grassholm to see the migratory Puffins, Manx sheerwater or the 2nd largest breeding colony of gannets in the Atlantic. Expect at different times of the year to see fulmar, choughs, guillemots, kittiwakes, wagtails, buzzards, peregrines the list goes on.
You don’t have to go too far to enjoy the Pembrokeshire wildlife, Top of the Woods is a nature haven, and you can just sit back and enjoy it all or take a walk in the woods. Just don't forget to bring your binoculars!

You can cycle out straight from Top of the Woods, to some of the best cycling in the UK.
There is something for everyone in Pembrokeshire, from passionate and dedicated cyclist, to family and leisure riders looking for low traffic/car free rides. Pembrokeshire can offer a cycling holiday adventure in an inspiring landscape.

On and in the water adventures
The area offers fabulous water sports opportunities, with SUPing, kayaking and canoeing, coasteering, surfing, windsurfing, sailing, paddle boarding, wild swimming and white water rafting all available in the Teifi Gorge and Cardigan Bay.

Horse riding on ancient bridleways, beaches & woodlands
North Pembrokeshire is blessed with fantastic riding opportunities, with hundreds of miles of bridleways, and picturesque lanes with almost no vehicle traffic.
There are number of riding schools within a 7 mile radius of Penrallt, offering everything from lessons for complete beginners and children, through to cross-country hacks and show jumping training.

Havard Stables offers lessons and treks up the Carnigli Mountain, with wonderful views of Newport and Dinas, suitable for all abilities
Preseli Pony Trekking offer escorted riding routes, following ancient tracks across open hills and moorland, amid spectacular scenery, stone circles, wild ponies and birds of prey.
Crosswell Riding Stables have a variety of routes which take in the Preseli hills, ancient bridleways and the magical Ty Canol woods.
