Welcome to the Wild Spa at Top of the Woods! Our outdoor wood-fired sauna, outdoor rainforest showers, sunset deck offer a unique way to unwind and reconnect with nature.

🌲 Using the Wild Spa

Can I use the Wild Spa if I’m new to saunas or cold water therapy?

Absolutely! The Wild Spa is designed for all experience levels, from first-timers to seasoned spa-goers.

If you're new to saunas:

  • Start with shorter sessions of 5-10 minutes, then take a break before re-entering.

  • Stay hydrated with fresh spring water.

  • Relax & enjoy the sunset deck or use the cold shower to cool down 

  • Then enter the sauna again and repeat.

What are the benefits of using a wood-fired sauna and cold plunge pool?

Using a sauna followed by a cold plunge offers numerous health and wellbeing benefits, including:
✔ Improved circulation – Alternating heat and cold stimulates blood flow and boosts the immune system.
✔ Stress relief – The sauna's warmth relaxes muscles, while the cold plunge refreshes the mind.
✔ Muscle recovery – Ideal after outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, or kayaking.
✔ Deep relaxation – Encourages mindfulness, detoxification, and improved sleep.

How should I alternate between the sauna and cold plunge?

1️⃣ Sauna (10-15 minutes) – Warm up and allow your body to sweat.
2️⃣ Cold Rainforest Shower (1-2 mins) - cool down & invigorate the senses. 
3️⃣ Rest & Hydrate (5-10 minutes) – Relax on the sunset deck or by the wildlife pond.
🔄 Repeat 2-3 times for maximum benefits!

What should I do after my Wild Spa session?

After your session:
✔ Rehydrate with fresh Top of the Woods spring water.

✔ Take in the views on the sunset deck, letting your body adjust before heading back.

✔ Rest in the hammocks and enjoy the ambience
✔ Rest and warm up naturally before heading back to your accommodation.
✔ Enjoy a nourishing meal to replenish your body.

Can I use the Wild Spa if I have sensitive skin?

Yes! Our spa uses pure, chemical-free spring water, and the sauna and cold plunge are natural treatments that can improve circulation and skin health.

 

If you have concerns, check with a medical professional before booking.  

☁️ Weather & Seasonal Availability

What happens if it rains during my Wild Spa session?

The Wild Spa is an outdoor experience designed to be enjoyed in all weather. Light rain can even enhance the experience, creating a soothing contrast between the sauna’s warmth and the cool, misty air.

 

In cases of severe weather (e.g. storms, high winds), we may need to reschedule your session for safety reasons.

Is the Wild Spa open all year round?

The Wild Spa is open from Easter to September, aligning with Top of the Woods' camping season.

🛁 Facilities & Etiquette

Is there a changing area and storage for my belongings?

​Yes! The Wild Spa has dedicated changing areas with a place to store you clothes - this area does not have secure lockers so please dont store expensive personal items.

Can I bring my own essential oils for the sauna?

For safety and air quality reasons, personal essential oils are NOT permitted in the sauna. 

Can I take photos inside the Wild Spa?

To ensure a peaceful, screen-free experience, and respecting people's privacy we ask guests to keep phones and cameras outside the spa area. However, there are plenty of opportunities to capture memories before or after your session!

Can I bring my own alcohol to the Wild Spa area?

​For safety reasons, alcohol is not permitted in the Wild Spa area. Instead, replenish with natural spring water and allow your body to absorb the full benefits of the sauna experience.

Are children or dogs allowed in the Wild Spa area

The Wild Spa is a peaceful, adults-only space designed for rest and relaxation. For that reason, children and dogs are not permitted in the spa area.

🌿 Access & Booking

Can I visit the Wild Spa if I’m not staying at Top of the Woods?

The Wild Spa is exclusively for guests staying at Top of the Woods. It is not open to outside visitors who are not part of a booking.

Can day visitors of staying guests use the Wild Spa?

Yes, day visitors of guests staying at Top of the Woods (such as friends or family) may use the Wild Spa, subject to availability.


✔ Day visitors must be pre-approved by Top of the Woods before arrival.
✔ They must check in at reception and sign the Day Visitor Guest Book.
✔ Spa bookings for day visitors can only be made on the day of their visit, subject to availability.

Is there a minimum or maximum group size for a private spa booking?

lanning a small gathering, celebration, or nature-based retreat? You can book a private Wild Spa session for groups of up to 10 people.
