Some of the best holiday moments at Top of the Woods happen around the campfire or BBQ after a beach day, woodland walk or sunset on the Pembrokeshire coast.

Our glamping accommodation is fully set up for relaxed self-catering, with camp kitchens, firepits and BBQs included in your stay. Campers can hire firepits and BBQs too, with shared fridge and freezer space in the Dutch Barn.

From inspiring campfire recipes to easy summer street food nights when you fancy a night off cooking, or local places to eat around Cardigan and in the villages near the campsite, there are plenty of relaxed ways to eat well during your stay at Top of the Woods.

And while you’re out exploring Pembrokeshire and Cardigan Bay, don’t forget to pick up some of the fantastic local Welsh produce along the way to bring back and cook over the campfire too.

At Top of the Woods, outdoor cooking is just part of the holiday. From slow, lazy breakfasts on the campfire to simple suppers on the firepit/BBQ, food naturally brings everyone together, after a day exploring Cardigan Bay & the Pembrokeshire coast. And nothing tastes better, then food cooked over the fire, to share with the people you love. 

All our glamping accommodation includes a fully equipped camp kitchen, two-ring gas stove, firepit, BBQ and all the cooking and dining kit you need for relaxed self-catering during your stay.

 

Whether it’s coffee outside in the morning sun, sausages on the firepit after a coastal walk or a simple dinner under the stars, everything is set up to make cooking outdoors feel easy and enjoyable.

For campers, there’s a shared fridge and freezer in the Dutch Barn, along with a microwave and somewhere to sit and eat under cover. Firepits and BBQs are available to hire, and we provide quality firewood that’s ideal for campfire cooking.

Summer Street Food Nights at the Dutch Barn

During your summer holidays in Pembrokeshire, head back to Top of the Woods after a day exploring Cardigan Bay, the beaches and coast path, and enjoy an easy summer food night with some of our favourite local street food kitchens serving generous, tasty cooking made for slow, easy holiday evenings together.

Think woodfired pizza by Maggie Mo’s, Street Chef serving up proper fish & chips, and Los Muñecos bringing bold Caribbean and Central American street food flavours. All are small independent family-run food businesses, and we wanted to share the love of some of our passionate local street food scene here in Pembrokeshire & West wakes, with our guests without anyone needing to leave Top of the Woods.

No need to book ahead, just turn up hungry. Great local food for slow summer evenings together.

Menus, pricing and any food night updates will be shared on the blackboard in Soo’s Guest Shed during your stay.

Pembrokeshire is a bit of a food haven, and Cardigan is our closest town to the campsite. You’ve got access to some of the best local produce in Wales, along with an eclectic mix of independent places flying the flag for passionate, locally driven food

 

Here are some ideas for you in Cardigan, our nearest town:

  • Crwst (SA43 1BU). A firm favourite with guests and locals alike, winning multiple awards, with some of its produce even stocked in Harrods. Perfect for brunch, great coffee, fresh bakes and what many would argue are the best doughnuts in Wales.

  • Grain Pizza (SA43 1EZ). By the river serving tasty woodfired pizza alongside local Bluestone Brewery beers. An easy crowd-pleaser after a beach day.

  • Bocs Du (Thursday – Saturday SA43 1DB). A relaxed food spots during your summer holidays in Pembrokeshire, with both a restaurant in Cardigan and their popular street food van down on the quayside, serving locally sourced burgers, fresh seafood and easy food evenings by the river.

  • Yr Hen Printworks (SA43 1FA). Offers Welsh tapas with a strong farm-to-fork approach, backed by Michelin-starred experience. A lovely option if you’re celebrating something special during your stay.

  • The Black Lion (SA43 1HJ). One of the oldest buildings in Cardigan, and a former coaching inn, serves excellent food with a real focus on local ingredients and traditional cooking done properly.

  • The Copper Pot (SA43 1JS). A friendly family-run bar & restaurant located in the heart of Cardigan's main Highstreet. With chef prepared fresh meals daily, using locally sourced ingredients for a delicious dining experience during lunch and dinner.

In our local villages near by to Top of the Woods

we’re lucky to have The Nags Head (SA37 0HJ) and Ffynnone Arms (SA37 0EH) nearby. Both have their own feel, serving up lovely, tasty, well-cooked food and a relaxed atmosphere, all just a short drive away.
