What To Expect From Your Wild River Canoe Trek Holiday
Friday - Check-into your camping or glamping accommodation between 3.30pm - 8pm
Saturday - 2 course hot breakfast in the Dutch Barn at 8am
The river canoe trek takes 4 to 5 hours through the Teifi Gorge, a unique environment where fresh and saltwater meet and forms one of the most varied aquatic landscapes in the country. The ancient steep gorge banks is an important habitat for species of otter, Red deer, Peregrine falcon, kingfishers, dragonflies, salmon and Sewin (sea trout). The gorge was also an important centre of coracle fishing and slate quarrying for hundreds of years and now forms part of the Teifi Salt Marshes nature reserve.
Travel slowly down the river by Canadian open canoe, where your expert will guide you through flat water for most of the journey and a set of gentle rapids near the end of the trip.
Return to Top of the Woods for a 2 course Saturday evening meal in the Dutch Barn.
