🛠 Essential Site Info
Your camp host will go through most of the site essentials on check-in, but we know how it is when you have just arrived after a long drive!
Car-free - All the meadows are car-free except for the Friend, Power & Park up pitches. All cars are parked in the car park & there are wheelbarrows to move your luggage to your pitch. Please let us know if you have any mobility issues so we can help you
Electric vehicle charging - Please go to reception to get your car booked in for charging and payment. There are a limited numbers of charging points and cars will be booked to designated time slots. Please do not just plug into the charging units, without booking in reception.
Electric hook ups - If you haven’t booked the EHU as an extra during your original booking of your holidays & decide when you arrive you would like it, please organise this in reception when you check in and payment will be required before use.
Quiet Time - Top of the Woods is a peaceful, nature-led site. We ask guests to respect others by keeping noise levels to a minimum after 10 PM and before 8 AM.
No amplified music is permitted on the site. Natural entertainment is provided in the form of bird song!
Campfires and BBQs are only permitted in fire pits or BBQs which are off the ground.
-
All glamping units have them included in their pitch, camping guests can hire firepits / BBQs. Firewood & kindling is available to buy in reception.
-
Disposable BBQs are not allowed.
-
Please don’t gather wood from around the site for the firepits or wood burners. Fallen wood provides natural habitat, and damp or rotting wood doesn't burn well!
-
Please don't leave your children or dogs unsupervised around a campfire
Wood burners - Please only use wood supplied by Top of the Woods for the wood’s burners in the glamping lodges. This is for your safety, and keeps the wood burners in good condition.
Dogs must be on lead at all times on site, including at your pitch. Please dispose of dog poo properly in the bins provided.
No smoking / vaping - inside glamping tents or covered communal areas. Please dispose of cigarettes responsibly in the bins provided.
Prickly things - The site was a working farm so there's still barbed wire fencing in some areas, as well as thorny hedgerows, brambles and nettles etc. We work hard to keep this to a minimum, but please be careful!
Water & wastewater - All taps are drinking water. It is a private spring water supply, please be mindful of water usage and don’t leave taps running! Drainage is to a private sewage treatment facility, this is biological process and can be easily upset by harsh chemicals or non-degradable material (e.g. antibacterial wipes, baby wipes, sanitary towels), so please don’t flush anything like that down the toilets.
Recycling - Top of the Woods is a sustainable site, having won several awards for our eco efforts! Recycling facilities are provided throughout the site and on the glamping pitches, for your convenience, your camp host will explain everything on check in
Mobile signal & wi-fi - mobile signal is at rural level so can be unpredictable. Wi-fi is available at the outdoor reception, with limited bandwidth. It's a great opportunity to relax and unplug! :)
Charging point for small devices (mobiles, tablets etc) is available the in the Dutch Barn. These have limited capacity and aren't suitable for things like hair dryers or fridges we are all about getting back to nature!)
A full list of site rules can be seen here
