As a small rural business ourselves, we wanted to give you Christmas gift inspiration and showcase some of the best independent craft businesses from local sustainable producers who are passionate about their products across Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthen.
As the saying goes "When you support a small business you are supporting a dream!" #SmallBizSatUk
For cheese lovers - Caws Cenarth Cheese
This family run cheese farm doesn't have enough space on its walls for all the awards their artisan cheeses win and is located just down the road from Top of the Woods!
One of my favourites cheese's is the Golden Cenarth, a washed-rind cheese with a gorgeously smooth texture and a past winner of the Supreme Champion accolade at the British Cheese Awards - Wow! and it tastes amazing baked like a traditional French Camembert. Why not make your Christmas cheese board a Welsh one!
For eco-conscious fashionistas - Billygoats & Raincoats
Billygoats & Raincoats is an ethical unisex brand based in Cardigan Wales.
They create quality, fun & colourful rain wear from recycled tent materials. Beth Cosmos the founder established her business after noticing the massive number of tents left behind at festivals. What a fantastic way to use products destined for landfill, in a playful and practical way!

These guys can craft your own bespoke Christmas gin, blended to your favourite aromatics, starting from a small batch of 12 bottles. They make wonderful gifts for friends and family just don’t forget to keep a few bottles for yourself!
Or join us at Top of the Woods in 2020 for our Wild Gin Weekends and learn to do this yourself!
For the sweet tooth - Cardigan Bay Honey
Cardigan Bay Honey (Mel Bae Ceredigion) is a rural bee farm based in the lower Teifi valley in West Wales. They produce quality honey from native bees and beeswax products (such as candles, lip balms etc.). All their products come from their own bees and are ethically harvested and are as organic as possible, with many of the hives situated in our very own woodland!
We stocked Cardigan Bay Honey products in reception this year and were a huge hit with our guests!
For those in need of pampering - The Really Wild Soap Company
Really Wild Soaps are natural, mild, lightly fragranced and nourishing. Ingredients are ethically foraged from hedgerows, coastlines and seashore around St David's. With part of the proceeds donated to the Bumble Bee Conservation Trust who raise awareness about our much-loved bumblebees.
We stocked a selection of these natural soaps and shampoo bars for our camping & glamping guests this summer and the Mermaid Shampoo Bar was very popular as the perfect travel eco shampoo bar!
